At Escape Eviction, our goal is to prevent homelessness by addressing the direct causes of housing insecurity. We hope to help our neighbors stay safely at home, help children stay in school, and keep families from experiencing homelessness.
Every year, over two million U.S. households have an eviction case filed against them. Unfortunately, families facing eviction are at increased risk of homelessness and financial hardship, with impacts that may continue for years after the initial filing. Beyond the immediate loss of stable housing, these families may also lose access to future housing opportunities due to the impact of eviction on credit reports. Fortunately, eviction is a preventable cause of homelessness—and Escape Eviction is working to reduce its effects on families in Dallas and surrounding areas.
